What are the hardest lessons you learned through divorce?
My studies and experience say, new lessons keep on pouring in as day pass by once you part from your ‘Better Half’ with whom you had build castles of hopes and dreams.
It is not easy to find another partner soon without compromising on many things- One of the women from my known circle hurried to divorce her husband in spite of being stopped by her well wishers. She was young and educated and thought - like millions of young divorcees across the globe- I will get a new man easily and start another life- It did not turn out to be that rosy. Every time her profile got a response from a potential proposal there was one question - 'Why did your husband divorce you ?' Or 'Why did your divorce took place ?' - When ever she clarified, she got a response - But we have to know the other side of the story before we proceed- and the proceedings never took off.
This lady is now over 35, twelve years after her divorce she is still to settle and now on job she toils for 9 hours a day and two hours of journey in crowded Mumbai trains and buses. Add, two hours of her focus on her only son.
Every day there is a new challenge and new hardships, she confessed adding that she would not mind going back to her husband again and mend the quarrels. But alas! It’s too late. Her husband is already married now.
The same can be applied to many men who pursue beautiful girls in offices and internet ignoring their beloved wife, finally ending up in losing her to another man after an impatient hasty divorce.
