I converted to islam about four to five years ago. Ever since then, I learned gradually about the deen, the pillars of islam, the articles of faith, the importance of staying on the way of the salaf, and of listening to the ulama of Ahl al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamaa’ah. I'm not a perfect muslim, but, I try to remember Allah as much as I can and strive to do as many good deeds as I can. If you wonder what scholars or students of knowledge that I take ilm from, I listen to: Saalih al-Munajjid, Ibn Baz, Ibn Uthaymeen, Assim Al-Hakeem, Ibnul Qayyim, Ibn Rajab, Umar S. al-Ashqar, Bilal Philips, Jamaal Zarabozo. I try to do my morning and evening adkhars every day, as well as my prayer adkhars after the conclusion of each fardh prayer. I also pray my sunnah prayers and try to attend the salat in congregation. I set some time aside to read from tafseer and other books from trustworthy scholars. As for my hobbies, what I'm like, my number one hobby is reading. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been into reading, but, now as an adult, I have a library of 150-200 books but it's not that impressive. I have a lot of books about islam; from them I have learned a great deal. I've always been interested in history so I have a lot of books regarding history, often antiquity or medieval history, but also some early modern and modern history as well. Sometimes I exercise with equipment I personally own. I also very much enjoy going to the woods. I like being inside the parks, the wilderness, with all the animals, trees, sights, and smells therein. It's just such a delight to be in nature. I'm more of an introvert, in case there's any wondering.

Someone who is very interested in studying Islam, in pleasing Allah, wears Jilbaab or Niqab. I would rather that she stays at home. And does not listen to music. A woman from Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah and acknowledges the importance of following the Qur'ān and Sunnah. Of course, I do not expect perfection, or even something close to that, but, that we all try at least. I hope she stays within the home and maintains it as well as helping raise the children, alongside me when I am not at work. I don't have any ethnic preference or anything like that, really. I would prefer someone who converted to islam like I did, but, I'm open to converts and born muslims, to be sure.
